Douglas Drive Corridor Study
As properties and infrastructure age along Golden Valley's Douglas Drive corridor, it is necessary to guide growth and redevelopment in a logical direction.
In July 2008, the City officially began a study of the Douglas Dr corridor. The study, funded by a grant awarded by Transit for Livable Communities in partnership with the Federal Highway Administration, and the Minnesota Department of Transportation, focused on a redesign of Douglas Dr and on establishing a long-term vision for the corridor. The City Council adopted the Douglas Drive Corridor Study into the Comprehensive Plan in January of 2010.
In addition to addressing future land use changes, the study examines various options for multi-modal transportation along the corridor while considering the needs of residents and businesses, traffic and pedestrians. The study also identifies funding options for future improvements to the roadway.
