Registration for these programs is taken through the Park and Recreation Department. Watch the Spring/Summer Golden Valley Park & Recreation brochure for information. Please note that due to the popularity of this program, the first week of registration is limited to those who have not participated in the past.

Golden Valley Safety Camp (ages 7-10)

2009 Safety Camp

This program is designed to give youth entering second, third, and fourth grades safety education in a camp setting. Camp counselors (City Police and Fire personnel) will oversee an interactive program that includes fire safety, bike safety, first aid, safety in the home, a Safety Olympics, and much more. While safety education serves as the primary focus, fun, friends, and feeling good are also highlighted. Awards are presented to all participating youth.

The $25 fee includes snacks, lunch, supervision, and a Safety Camp T-shirt. Parents must provide transportation to and from Brookview Park. For further information, contact the Golden Valley Police Department at 763-593-8058 or  jpaul@ci.golden-valley.mn.us. Camp is held rain or shine. Scholarships are available. We encourage early registration, as this program is limited to 100 youth.

Golden Valley Junior Safety Camp (ages 4-6)

This one-day camp is especially designed for four-, five-, and six-year-olds and focuses on safety education in a camp setting. Interactive programs include fire safety, pedestrian/bike safety, safety in the home, personal safety, 911, and much more. Camp counselors include personnel from the City's Police and Fire Departments and Park and Recreation Department.

The $15 fee includes snacks, lunch, supervision, and a Safety Camp T-shirt. Parents must provide transportation to and from Brookview Park. For further information, contact the Golden Valley Police Department at 763-593-8058 or  jpaul@ci.golden-valley.mn.us. Camp is held rain or shine. Scholarships are available. We encourage early registration, as this program is limited to 80 youth.
