Girls Slowpitch Softball
The Golden Valley Girls Softball League (GVGS) is designed to be a fun, slowpitch league of about 18 regular season games (usually two per week) and two tournaments. This successful league is staffed by volunteer parents (coaches are especially needed). The philosophy is everyone plays. The focus for each team is on skills, fundamentals, and fun.
Although participants are typically from communities in the Hopkins or Robbinsdale School Districts, all games are played on Golden Valley diamonds in cooperation with local Park & Recreation officials. Practices begin in late April, and the season continues through mid-July.
Age Requirements (current school year)
The League is open to girls ages 8 to 18 and is divided into two divisions:
- Junior League: grades 3 - 6
- Senior League: grades 7 - 12
