Brookview Community Center

Brookview Community Center has community rooms available to suit your entertaining or business needs, all on the beautiful rolling greens of Brookview Golf Course.
Conveniently located at 200 Brookview Parkway, the Community Center, operated by the City of Golden Valley, may be rented for private parties or meetings by Golden Valley civic and non-profit organizations, civic and non-profit organizations from outside Golden Valley, Golden Valley residents, residents of other communities, and private businesses.
Brookview Community Center's simple rooms provide a perfect backdrop for your event. You enhance with your own decorations—as plain or as elaborate as you like.

Hours
The Community Center office is open 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. The Center is closed on City holidays (New Years Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after, and Christmas Eve and Christmas Day).The Community Center will close no later than 12:30 am for any function.
Private parties scheduled between mid-September and mid-April may have access to the Community Center no earlier than 1 pm on the day of the event. Hours are more flexible from mid-April through mid-September.

General Policies
- The permit holder shall assume full responsibility for any unlawful act(s) committed in the exercise of the permit.
- Gambling of any nature is prohibited.
- A licensed caterer or food establishment must be hired to provide food served at Brookview. The food must be cooked in their licensed kitchen. They may keep the food hot or cold in the Community Center kitchen. A copy of the caterer/food establishment license must be submitted to Brookview 90 days prior to the event.
- Potluck meals are not permitted.
- Permit holders may not charge admission to their event.
- Brookview Community Center may not be rented for fund raising events.
Alcoholic Beverages
All service of alcoholic beverages must be provided by the city’s contracted beverage provider. (Beverage Service Information and Pricing PDF)
- Under no circumstances will the renter or anyone in their party be allowed to bring any intoxicating beverages into the facility.
- Any event that serves alcoholic beverages must also serve food.
- No alcoholic beverages may be served after 12 am
- If alcohol is being served anytime during the event and the contracted event time is scheduled past 10:30 pm, a Golden Valley police officer will be arranged (by city staff) and will arrive at 10:30 pm and stay until the end of the contracted time.
Fees
- All user groups may be charged for operation and out-of-pocket costs.
- Rental fees for the Community Center are reviewed at year's end and are subject to change with a minimum 30 days' notice to present permit holders.
- Final payments are due 30 days prior to the date of rental.
- Golden Valley Non-Profit Organizations must have the words “Golden Valley” incorporated in the name to receive the Golden Valley Non-Profit rate.
Parties and Social Events
A $200 reservation fee is payable at the time of application. The Community Center requires a $500 damage and policy compliance deposit, separate from the rental fee. This fee is returned within one week of the event if no deductions are necessary.

Fewer than 75 People (using Willow Room and kitchen only)
Fee includes up to 5 hours of use. All groups will be charged a $60 clean-up fee. Reservations may be made up to three months in advance.- Golden Valley residents, businesses, civic and non-profit organizations will be charged $25 per hour, plus a $25 set-up/takedown fee.
- Non-Golden Valley residents, businesses, civic and non-profit organizations will be charged $35 per hour, plus a $35 set-up/takedown fee.

More than 75 People
Fee includes up to 12 hours of use, and set-up/takedown and clean-up. Reservation can be made up to 18 months in advance for residents of Golden Valley and 12 months in advance for non-residents.- Golden Valley resident, businesses, civic and non-profit organizations will be charged $550 for up to 12 hours of use, and $25 per hour for each additional consecutive hour.
- Non-Golden Valley residents, businesses, civic and non-profit organizations will be charged $635 for up to 12 hours of use, and $35 per hour for each additional consecutive hour.
Meetings
Clients may be charged for costs not included in the normal operation of the Community Center.
- Golden Valley Residents and Businesses
$45 per hour, plus a $45 set-up/takedown fee. - Non-Golden Valley Residents and Businesses
$55 per hour, plus a $55 set-up/takedown fee. - Golden Valley Civic and Non-Profit Organizations (“Golden Valley” must be incorporated in the name)
Free of charge during normal business hours, Monday- Friday, 8 am -5 pm;
$25 per hour, plus a $25 set-up/takedown fee outside of normal business hours. - Non-Golden Valley Civic and Non-profit Organizations
$35 per hour, plus a $35 set-up/takedown fee.
Miscellaneous Charges
- Security Fee: $120
City ordinance requires that a Golden Valley police officer be hired if alcoholic beverages are being served anytime during the evening and the activity is scheduled beyond 10:30 pm. This will require an additional fee based on a minimum of two hours. The officer will arrive at 10:30 pm. - Exclusive Use of Patio, Deck, Gazebo: $100

- Piano Use: $50 rental plus $50 deposit
- TV/VCR/DVD: $15/day
Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellations must be submitted in writing by the permit holder. When cancellation is received 60 or more days prior to the date of rental, 50% of the rental deposit will be refunded. No refunds will be issued for cancellation requests received less than 60 days prior to the date of rental. Rental fees and other charges are completely refundable if the City cancels the use of the Community Center for any reason other than violations by the user.
